Netflix has released its latest trailer for Spike Lee’s new film “Da 5 Bloods” which reveals an insight into the R-rated movie that pays homage to Hollywood classic “Apocalypse Now.”

Spike Lee’s latest film will follow a group of vets from the era of the Vietnam war through to the 21st century and present day America under President Trump.

Lee considers the film to be an homage to 1979 classic “Apocalypse Now” which was directed by Francis Ford Copolla and starred the late Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall and Martin Sheen. He also considers “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre” as an influence when making the picture.

Starring Clarke Peters, Delroy Lindo, Norm Lewis, Chadwick Boseman, Jean Reno, Melanie Thierry, Jonathan Majors and Isiah Whitlock Jr, the film shows a group of African American Vietnam vets seeking to find the remains of their fallen squad leader - and clues to a hidden treasure.
