This year’s Frenzy Short Film Fest is accepting entries until August 15th as filmmakers send in their films with themes around social and psychological vulnerabilities.

The Frenzy Short Film Festival, which is produced by Barrio Independent Productions, aims to help raise the profile of independent filmmakers following its successful first edition in East Harlem that highlighted films around human psyche.

For their latest edition, filmmakers can submit their psychological short films that can be within any genre such as action/adventure, comedy, drama, science fiction, thriller/horror or historical dramas with a mental health point of focus. These can either be interpretive of mental health or address it directly within the storyline.

Films must also include a frenzy episode as part of this year’s main competition entry requirements.

Filmmakers can submit films up to 15 minutes in length into this year’s official competition, and send in their application to the festival, which can be downloaded from their website.

This year’s Gala Award Ceremony will host nominated filmmakers with Frenzy Short Film Fest’s statuettes being offered as prizes for Best Short, Film First and Second Place entries. Other cash prizes as well as venue and online screenings will also be offered.

The 2021 Festival will take place from November 12 to 14 at El Barrio's Artspace PS109, as well as digitally from November 15 to 21 via the BIP Facebook page and the official website. Each video will have a URL for viewing that will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

BIP, which coordinates the festival each year, is a non-profit organization dedicated to artistic productions and is committed to collaboration as well as the presentation of cultural and artistic events that reflect our society. The nonprofit is led by a group of committed artists with extensive careers in different artistic fields such as writing, dancing, acting, poetry, filmmaking, and producing.
