Top 10 Greatest films of all time

The BFI Sight & Sound publication has released the top 50 Greatest Films of all Time placing 'Vertigo' above 'Citizen Kane' for the first time.

From critics to academics, the best films of all time were polled and 'Vertigo' is now officially the 'Greatest Film of All Time'. Alfred Hitchcock has finally dethroned the iconic 'Citizen Kane' that has been a cultural phenomenon for more than half a century.

This latest poll is the first to be conducted "since the internet became almost certainly the main channel of comunication about films" according to the BFI. Indeed, there has been a cultural shift and the discussion of the web has led to more intense debate about the greatest films of our time.

The top 10 Greatest films of all time are now listed as follows:
