Zombie Apocalypse, Judgement day and May 21st the end?

The Terminator franchise was a fictional representation of the end of the world to come, with robots wiping out humans, but what about the Zombie Apocalypse and the 21st May predictions?

Social media outlets and bloggers went crazy this week when a marketing campaign turned viral about a ‘Zombie Apocalypse’ which came directly from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Yes, the government agency issued a full page spread on its website on how to prepare for a Zombie invasion.

From naming ‘Resident Evil’ to ‘Night Of The Living Dead’ as good references the buzz surrounding the announcement continues to grow. To add further to the doomsday speculations (although this has nothing to do with the end of the world) a radical Christian group predicted the demise of the planet May 21st 2011. Although, they had already issued a similar prediction in 1994.

If we turn to fiction, the world should have ended in 1997, but thankfully Schwarzenegger in ‘The Terminator’ rescued the day. However in his 2003 hit, the world did end, and in Terminator 4, well, it just gets more ridiculous. So when will it end really? 2012?
