Rihanna was recently rumoured to be in the lineup for The Bodyguard remake, among a host of other starlets including Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.
The Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner flick was well received when it came out in 1992, and studios are eager to revamp it for a modern audience. Do we really need a new romantic twist to an already excellent film?
Warner Bros is reportedly looking to use the film as a vehicle to boost a new singer to the limelight but will this be the only reason for kick starting a new remake?
Who should replace Kevin Costner as a younger secret service agent and would there be someone out there with Whitney Houston vocals?
One thing is certain; Rihanna doesn't want to be involved with it. She told OK Magazine:
Absolutely not. I hate it when singers do singing movies all the time, because you can never look at them as anybody else.
