PARK CITY, USA The Sundance Film Festival has grown in popularity over the years and independent filmmaking is at an all time high. Should we be taking more note of the Sundance film selection?

Every year independent filmmakers and a mixture of celebrity and industry execs come to Park City to network, learn and watch film screenings.

The festival is also highly publicized, in a way that the Oscars get a lot of pre and post buzz. The films in the selection are often little known to audiences prior to their festival screening, but yet, their mere selection grants them a huge plus.

While filmmakers may get a shot at the Oscars, it would appear that Sundance now is becoming so big that it could almost be an Award Show equivalent for indie filmmakers.
