The Sony Pictures hack escalated today with a leaked email showing how the attackers are now directly threatening all Sony Pictures' staff and their families.

In an email revealed today to Sony employees, the hackers, known as 'Guardians of Peace' have escalated their demands without clearly defining what they must do except stating that 'Sony Pictures is responsible'.

The text (below) has some obvious grammatical errors that may give the FBI and the NSA additional information on the attackers. Judging from the errors in the email it looks like an attack from outside the U.S., however there is no clear direct link to North Korea, which many believe is behind it.

Sony faces an uphill battle to regain control of its image, and its reputation following the attack, which is considered the worst of its kind to date.

Some experts have argued that North Korea is not capable of such a sophisticated attack however others have said that Sony's lax attitude to security was a long time coming.

The alarming threat by the hackers has rattled the film industry and as of yet, we don't know who is responsible or what the motive is.

With leaked passwords, addresses, salary information and social security numbers, even stars like Sylvester Stallone are impacted by the breach.

Removing Sony Pictures on earth is a very tiny work for our group which is a worldwide organization. And what we have done so far is only a small part of our further plan. It’s your false if you think this crisis will be over after some time. All hope will leave you and Sony Pictures will collapse. This situation is only due to Sony Pictures. Sony Pictures is responsible for whatever the result is. Sony Pictures clings to what is good to nobody from the beginning. It’s silly to expect in Sony Pictures to take off us. Sony Pictures makes only useless efforts. One beside you can be our member.

Many things beyond imagination will happen at many places of the world. Our agents find themselves act in necessary places.
