An Inglorious Golden Globes nomination for Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds has made the Golden Globes nomination list for best Motion Picture. Having received rave reviews at the Cannes Film Festival and earning top spot at the US box office in 2009, Tarantino has never had it so good.

The film, which takes place During World War II, depicts the story of a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds", who are chosen to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis.

Brad Pitt takes the lead as Lt. Aldo Raine, a vengeance-driven 1st Special Service Force officer in his first collaboration with Tarantino.

Inglorious Basterds faces a tough competition in this year s selection with films such as James Cameron s Avatar breaking new boundaries in animation and smashing box office records around the world
