Media piles pressure on Obama : "48,000 Americans will be killed"

President Obama will attend a Sunday night vigil with the families of the Sandy Hook massacre, that took the lives of young children and teachers, shocking Americans across the nation during the Christmas season.

Media outlets have been very vocal about what has to be done, and the President won't be able to ignore the growing calls for action, which is now considered by some as a 'national priority'. From CNN's Piers Morgan, to Ben Stiller, Morgan Freeman and political Obama supporters like Eva Longoria, and the Huffington Post, there is wide support for change.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg also issued a very strong response to the shootings stating that 48,000 Americans would be killed by gun crime if nothing happened.

“It’s time for the president, I think, to stand up and lead and tell this country what we should do — not go to Congress and say, ‘What do you guys want to do?’"

This latest tragedy comes after the nation mourned for victims of the 'Batman shootings' incident, which led to massive debate, but no action from the government.
