Fact Not Fiction Films announces short film production ‘Finding Wilson’ in partnership with The Lucy Rayner Foundation

Fact Not Fiction Films have announced the production of their next short film ‘Finding Wilson’ in partnership with The Lucy Rayner Foundation to raise awareness of mental health and PTSD.

Fact Not Fiction Films, established in 2006 is a multi award-winning independent film and documentary production company. They have a history of making films on public interest issues with their latest documentary release ‘Everybody Flies’, investigating the air you breathe on planes.

Fact Not Fiction Films aim to film their new short in West Sussex in late August 2020. Last year, Fact Not Fiction Films released ‘Missing a Note’, a short film raising awareness of dementia. The film had a selected theatrical release with Everyman cinemas and was submitted for consideration to the 2020 Academy Awards.

Fact Not Fiction Films CEO Tristan Loraine stated: “Written by Viv Young, ‘Finding Wilson’ is a great script that allows us to work again with rising star Darcy Jacobs. We have an incredible crew volunteering to make this important short film. The film will further raise awareness of mental health, PTSD and the incredible work of The Lucy Rayner Foundation.”

Sarah MacDonnell of Ardent Talent who represents Miss Jacobs commented: "Following the success of 'Missing A Note', for which Darcy won the award for Best Young Actress at BFF, I am delighted she will once again be working with Fact Not Fiction Films. 'Finding Wilson' is such a beautiful script that conveys a very powerful and important message.”

Chief Executive for the Lucy Rayner Foundation, Mrs Jenny Rayner stated: “Film is such an important way to stimulate discussion about such an important public health issue. We are delighted to be the charity partner for this film project and we can’t wait to see the finished film.”

Assistant Producer and actress Victoria Kinmonth added: “Our focus now is to cast the role of Nicky. Nicky is a former military paramedic in her late 20s. The film deserves the best person for the job and that’s our goal to find her.”

Lily Grimes will be the Director of Photography (DP). Ms Grimes is a London based DP coming from international news and documentary fields. Since graduating with an MA in Cinematography from the prestigious National Film and Television School (NFTS) in 2019, Ms Grimes has shot a TV pilot, short films, films with performance artists and music videos. Lily was runner up of the British Society of Cinematography (BSC) Emerging Cinematographer award in 2019 and recently won an RTS award.
