This year’s 68th Venice International Film Festival starts Wednesday 31st August with a diverse selection of thrilling films including George Clooney’s ‘Ides Of March’, which will open the prestigious 10 day event.
Political thriller ‘Ides Of March’ is just one of many high profile films in the selection which includes David Cronenberg’s ‘A Dangerous Method’ and ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’ starring Gary Oldman and Oscar winning Colin Firth, adapted from John Le Carré’s engrossing original novel.
In the out of competition selection, expect to be entertained with ‘The Sorcerer and the White Snake’ starring Jet Li, with visuals not seen since 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon', and some poignant films from Syria and France, that could prove controversial.
Of course, I can’t leave out the home-grown Italian film industry, which will be in the spotlight with a selection of shorts, documentaries and features from top talent.
