The London Independent Film Festival (LIFF) has announced the dates for its upcoming 17th edition, opening at the Genesis Cinema.

LIFF is planning 7 full days of events along with its prestigious feature film and shorts contest. The festival will also hold a series of workshops attended by film industry guests, including a series of panels and pitching opportunities. Competitions, awards, networking and afterparties will also be among the activities during the LIFF festival in 2020.

The LIFF will officially open on March 13, 2020 and will run through to the 22nd, celebrating the top films in contention and announcing the winners on closing night at its awards ceremony on March 22, 2020.

Submissions for the 2020 festival are now open for British and international films. The regular deadline for filmmakers to submit their films is the 10th January, with final late submissions closing on the 31st of January, 2020. All selected films will receive automatic distribution via UK Film Channel.

Full details regarding submissions can be found on Film Freeway where films can be directly uploaded via the platform to enter the festival’s official selection.

The London Independent Film Festival (LIFF) is the premier event for first and second-time filmmakers as well as micro-budget and no-budget films. LIFF offers unique opportunities for indie filmmakers to showcase their achievements, with spaces reserved for first and second-time filmmakers, raising the profile of quality, independently produced films that find it difficult to receive distribution through other channels.
