Stop Cyberbullying Day short film with Chessie King reveals powerful message

Instagram star Chessie King has appeared in a new campaign for The Cybersmile Foundation on Stop Cyberbullying Day, directed and produced by Nick Entwistle.

The short film brings to life a spoken poem that touches on the subject of online harassment and cyberbullying, and how words can have an impact on people.

Shot on location in London by production company Bank of Creativity, the film takes place at different locations with Chessie’s spoken word performance juxtaposed to her surroundings.

The video has already amassed nearly 400,000 views since it was released earlier today by The Cybersmile Foundation.

Chessie King Stop Cyberbullying Day short film

“The Bank of Creativity have been partners of Cybersmile's #STOPCYBERBULLYINGDAY for the past three years,” said filmmaker Nick Entwistle.

“This year we wanted to spread an even more powerful message by bringing together some amazing people to create a spoken word piece that we hope will inspire people to be kinder online.”

Manchester-based writer Emma Sykes created the poem for the film which was shot and edited by Radford Nicholls.

Every year, Stop Cyberbullying Day raises awareness of online abuse and unites brands, institutions and public figures to take a stand and encourage a kinder internet. Messages of hope and inspiration along with short films and public service announcements are shared online throughout the day. People are able to contribute their message using the #STOPCYBERBULLYINGDAY hashtag on different social media platforms.
