Oprah TV ratings plummet, beaten by Judge Judy

The 'Oprah Winfrey show' failed to beat 'Judge Judy' in the battle for syndication TV ratings, as her show declined hugely in popularity.

Has Oprah lost the edge with viewers or are post-sweeps just a bad time for any show?

Apparently there are various factors affecting show ratings including the disaster in Japan and a general decline in TV audiences from February. This goes in contradiction to the earlier part of 2011 when viewer numbers shot up.

Overall, Oprah had a 21% decline from a year ago and was overtaken by Judge Judge, with 'Dr Phil' coming 3rd.

Glancing over to the ratings battle with sitcoms, Charlie Sheen maintained his reign, as the highest rated show in 'Two And A Half Men'
