Matt Cardle wins Simon Cowell's 2010 UK X Factor Finale

LONDON, UK - Simon Cowell's X Factor has come to a dramatic close in the final show of the season with Matt  winning  the contest, viewed by millions

The highly popular show has become a mainstream TV reality series in British pop culture. Quite like American Idol, the show brings the best talent across the country to compete for the grand cash prize and record deal.

Matt Cardle and Rebecca were audience and judges favourites leading up to the final decision. As part of the final show, Robbie Williams and Take That performed live for screaming fans.

UK Ladbrokes betting company reported huge bets placed on the final contenders ahead of the event.

After a mammoth contest, this year has had its ups and downs with some close calls and  surprise  kick offs, such as the band One Direction, which had previously been a strong favourite before Matt Cardle and Rebecca led votes in the final moments of the live broadcast.
