Johnny Depp joins George Clooney in Italy with a new home in Venice

Johnny Depp and George Clooney now share something in common, both stars have fallen in love with Italy.

Johnny Depp has bought a $13.5 million 17th Century Palazzo Dona Sangiantoffetti. Overlooking the Grand Canal in Venice. The property has a unique charm that few can afford to bid for. Thankfully, Johnny Depp had no fear of spending, out bidding an Arab Prince to get his dream property.

Depp and life partner Vanessa Paradis reside in the South of France, but were taken aback by Venice; and also own a 45 acre island in the Bahamas.

Depp told La Nuova Venezia : My experience of Venice really happened between 10pm and 2am when the streets closed and I was able to walk around and experience the poetry of Venice, the ghosts of Venice, all those wonderful dark alleys..For an actor being able to film within the confines of that magical city certainly helps.  The city s magic shone through completely.
