As the competition gets more intense leading up to January's announcement of the final 7 films to get nominations, the film industry is taking bets as to which films are likely to get the most nominations.

The members of the Academy s Visual Effects Branch Executive Committee choose the top contending films and will then be shown 15 minute experts of the final 7 shortlisted films in January afterwhich they will then nominate the five films that will be vying for the Oscar
