The backstory to why Selena Gomez lost her cool

Selena Gomez and the Jingle Ball dilemma

Selena Gomez lost her cool at the KIIS FM Jingle Ball concert on Friday, and since, she's been making headlines for "going ape", but people only have to look at the backstory to see why she was so upset.

At age 21 the former Disney star has become a pop icon to the young music generation. Her non-stop touring has made her a sensation at home as well as abroad. This year she also hit the big screens with her debut in 'Spring Breakers' and she's put a lot of focus towards her acting career, which has always been her bigger passion.

Gomez has also been promoting recent movie release 'Getaway' with co-star Ethan Hawke, and still has 3 upcoming tour dates planned before Christmas.

With all that said, Gomez is constantly in the spotlight for all the activities she's doing. She's rehearsing, planning, travelling, connecting with the fans 24/7, and on top of that, she's working with major brands on a variety of deals with Adidas thru to Verizon and Kmart.

It's easy to forget that there is a lot going on for this star and when the pressure is that high, and with so many multiple projects happening at once, there's going to be a point when you lose your cool. With all the drive and ambition she has, if something outside of her control is really messing up, and there's nothing that can be done about it, that is incredibly frustrating.

For all the flaws she may have in the public light, and for all the people who will now only see that moment as a portrayal of her attitude, they should really look at this backstory to understand why she has had a slip up. There's a lot going on, and she has so many people looking up to her to perform and to be perfect, and it's a lot.

There's no doubt Selena Gomez is one of the hardest working figures in entertainment right now. She has to be on it, and that's not easy and when things go wrong in life, sometimes we are human and we need to show our emotions. She shouldn't be singled out because of this, and I hope those of you reading this would look towards the positive side of her work instead of this mishap. She deserves better for all the good she is doing.
