Did NBC restore faith after the London Olympics closing ceremony?

NBC from loser to hero?

NBC failed to impress a majority of critics when the London 2012 Olympic ceremony opened to international acclaim. The taped show, hours after the live event was bashed for excluding parts, irrelevant commentary, poor choice of editing and more.

However, putting that all to aside, can audiences now forgive NBC for finally streaming the event live online? There were some major technical flaws however when visitors tried to watch the live stream as the picture would freeze on occasion and lag out. The demands of internet coverage likely put a huge strain on the resources available to stream to so many computers simultaneously.

According to the LA Times, NBC registered a 12% increase in viewership over the Beijing Olympics for its coverage of the London Olympics.

Does the popular Twitter hastag #NBCFail still apply?
