Creative Sparkworks has announced a new film and TV skills training course to support upcoming filmmakers that are looking to break into the entertainment industry.

The initiative, part of the charity’s ongoing work to help filmmakers make their impact and find new career opportunities, is open to people ages 18-30.

The free film & TV skills training & employment course is available 2 days a week on Thursdays and Fridays to eligible applicants that want additional tutoring. The initiative is set to run from October through to February 2024.

Run by film industry professionals, the course provides basic filmmaking training, one-to-one mentoring, industry standard CV and preparation support as well as workshops introducing professionals to working environments. These include on-set training experiences for filmmakers interested in working in broadcast media.

Students have previously been invited to participate in various productions across London including ITV’s This Morning and Loose Women programmes. Past alumni have also had their short films screened at Sony Pictures.

With the current high demand for film and TV skills in the industry, Creative Sparkworks has been helping to train the next generation of filmmakers and provide them with the support they need to make their entry into the business.

The initiative is currently open to Lambeth residents in London however you can also indicate your interest for future training programmes by signing up via the application form.
