Cameron Diaz cut a radio interview short on Monday while promoting her new movie 'Sex Tape' after the host raised Drew Barrymore's past drug abuse.
The actress was cheery and positive through the first part of the interview on the Kyle & Jackie O Show but soon lost her cool when the Australian host, Kyle Sandilands, mentioned Drew Barrymore's past 'drug years' and tied it into the conversation.
Diaz took quick offense, and replied with this remark:
"I'm sure, Kyle, you've never been through a drug phase, have you? Or alcoholism or anything like that? Pretty clean… always did it right? Congratulations.”
Shortly after, Kyle replied trying to shift away from her comment, Diaz then decided to 'stop' the interview:
"We have to go now…. sorry, they're wrapping us up."
However, this didn't stop KIIS 106.5 from making the interview available for all to hear. Did this help Cameron Diaz make her movie louder or was the host just totally out-of-line?
It's certainly a controversial decision to make a personal friend and co-star's past struggles with drug abuse the important focus of the conversation.
Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, Rob Corddry, Ellie Kemper and Jack Black star in 'Sex Tape' out in theaters now.
