The Frenzy Short Film Festival focuses on the social and psychological vulnerabilities of people and communities in general. The short films must incorporate a “frenzy” episode to qualify (a phase in which excitement seems to lead us to unconsciousness, and that can become negative when control is lost or behavior transgresses in what society considers “normal”).
Each film will premiere on the BIP's website and Facebook page and will run from November 16th thru November 21st (one film per day during 24 hours). In addition, presentations will be followed by a series of forums featuring mental health professionals as well as members of the films. The three best cinematographic works will receive monetary compensation. The judges include actor & producer Ian Paola (Orange is the New Black/Power Conviction/Blue Blods), filmmaker Veronica Caicedo (Founder/CEO International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival) and two mental health professionals. Also the audience will be able to vote for the best short film, best actress and best actor.
Pre-Festival BIP Short Film Trilogy - November 13, 14 & 15
BIP will also present a trilogy of short films as a festival preamble with viewers able to watch them online during the three days before the festival starts (November 13, 14 and 15). The festival organizers felt it important to produce three short-films in order to demonstrate what a frenzy episode is (Not in competition).
