“John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum” has cemented its crown at the box office after being released last Friday with a $56 million weekend opening.

The impressive earnings knocked “Avengers: Endgame” off the top of the box office scoreboard and fans have been raving about the latest film on social media since it was released. Reviewers gave “John Wick 3” an impressive 89% which in itself is a statement as to how well the storyline is evolving from the first movie, raising the stakes and making R-rated action movies mainstream again.

With the traction among action movie fans taking the franchise to new heights, it was only a matter of time before a sequel would be announced. Lionsgate confirmed that production on “John Wick 4” would go ahead and the next sequel will be released May 21, 2021.
