Filmmakers, producers, entrepreneurs, celebrities and creative professionals are descending on San Francisco in January to network at the world’s largest live streaming event.
Following on from the success of the New York Summit in September which set a global trend on Twitter, next year’s January Summit is expected to draw over 1000 attendees including journalists, actors, film directors, successful business leaders and renowned technology experts.
Periscope was acquired by Twitter earlier this year for around $100 million and the platform has grown quickly to over 10 million users in just several months. Periscope Summit founder Ryan A. Bell launched the first event in NYC after the app "changed his life" and wanted to bring people from the community closer together.
A host of international speakers are confirmed for January's Summit (14-17th) which will include networking events, panels and after-parties where you can meet like-minded people in an intimate setting. Audiences and speakers will also be able to live-stream from their phones throughout the 4-day event and in conferences.
- A live performance from comedian Kirk Fox
- Panel discussions with media personalities
- Debates on storytelling and personal branding with experts
- Q and As covering Live Streaming, Interactive Content & Comedy
- A musical performance with Tom Rhodes (”The Voice”)
You can broadcast live from your phone anywhere in the world by pushing the ’Start Broadcast’ button on the app which is free to download on Android and iOS.
Users can build a fan base, and develop a personal brand to network and attract the right collaborators, partners and even investors for their projects. There are also ways in which you can monetize Periscope and learn from others
Early adopters of Periscope have seen tremendous growth in followers and business opportunities. Amanda Oleander, an artist from Los Angeles, started scoping on the platform and attained over 500,000 loyal followers in just a few months.
The platform has allowed her to promote her work and share her passion with an international audience while connecting with likeminded people.
Oleander recently attended the Toronto Film Festival and covered the red carpet premiere of “Our Brand is Crisis,” produced by George Clooney starring Sandra Bullock, Joaquim de Almeida and Billy Bob Thornton. She confirmed to us that she will also be heading to the upcoming Sundance Film Festival.
Oleander was recently signed to the UTA talent agency and will be attending January’s Periscope Summit as a speaker.
Tickets are expected to sell out for the January Periscope Summit but reservations can be made online while places are still available.
