Royal family sue Closer Magazine over nude picturesBy Iain Alexander / 14 September 2012 Legal action launched against French magazine French magazine Closer is in hot water after it published unauthorized pictures of the Duchess of Cambridge naked. Prince Williams and Kate Middleton were on holiday in the south of France when a paparazzi photographer took pictures of the duchess sunbathing topless. The pictures were taken "from the street" according to the publication, which has defended the release of the images. The Royal family has taken immediate steps to condemn their release, whilst the UK edition of the publication made it clear they would never publish the photos. St James' Palace is pursuing legal action in light of their publication. The BBC confirmed within the hour that pictures of the Duchess topless were offered to other media outlets in the UK, which turned them down. Will there be a media boycott like with Prince Harry? The pictures are likely to be easily found on the web after this incident.
