Pierce Brosnan has voiced his support for a woman to play Bond and thinks it's time for change.

Brosnan, who starred in 4 Bond films including ‘Goldeneye’, was excited at the prospect of a female Bond saying that “we’ve watched the guys do it for the last 40 years, out of the way guys, and put a woman up there!”

Speaking at the Deauville Festival in France, the actor reflected on the #MeToo movement which he felt had made a significant impact in society, and needed to be reflected in film.

Daniel Craig is set to make his last appearance in ’No Time to Die’, which gets its release next year. After a dramatic departure from the Brosnan years in 2006’s ‘Casino Royale’, the franchise is set to open up the possibility of a female Bond in the 25th movie in a new twist.

Lashana Lynch has been cast as ‘the replacement’ for Daniel Craig, becoming the new 007 in the upcoming film (or so we believe), but it is not yet clear whether this means that she will play Bond in subsequent movies.
