Jean-Claude Van Damme is bringing back the epic split one more time in Radar Films' new 'Kickboxer' remake, which is scheduled to start shooting in New Orleans.

Radar Films' announced this afternoon that Van Damme had been attached to the picture, and will be taking over the role of Master Chow, replacing Tony Jaa.

Producer Ted Field's new film also stars Dave Bautista (Guardians Of The Galaxy), Alain Moussi (X:Men: Days of Future Past) and Georges St. Pierre, a former UFC welterweight champion who played in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.

Mike Weber, Peter Meyer, Nick Celozzi and Dimitri Logothetis are also producing the 1989 remake which will tell the story of a martial artist who travels to Thailand to learn the secret art of kickboxing in order to avenge his brother's death at the fists of the notorious Tong Po (Played by Bautista).

Released back in September 1989, 'Kickboxer' became an instant classic and established Van Damme as a global action star.

The 'Kickboxer' remake will be shot in Louisiana and Thailand and is set to go into production this coming week. The film is being represented by The Exchange, which will be selling the film to global markets.
