Harrison Ford's condition has been upgraded to 'fair' according to the latest reports on his plane crash.

The actor sustained head injuries including a gash to the face but is not said to be in a critical or serious condition.

Celebrities and fans have sent in their thoughts on Twitter wishing the actor a quick recovery. Among the first to reach out was William Shatner who recently caused some controversy after missing Leonard Nimoy's funeral over the weekend.

Some news stories on the accident have reported that Ford was in a critical condition but this has now been denied by sources on the scene.

The FAA issued a statement that the plane had crashed very soon after taking off around 2.30pm local time.

NBC LA reports that a witness at the golf course suggested that the plane had hit a tree.
