Golden Globes 2013 Nominations : The French are back

Film nominations announced

The nominations for the 2013 Golden Globes have been announced today.

For the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, the likes of 'Django Unchained', 'Lincoln' and 'Argo' will compete in several categories including 'Best Motion Picture'.

Steven Spielberg's 'Lincoln' leads contenders with 7 nominations, whilst 'Django Unchained' and Ben Affleck's critical hit 'Argo' both have 5 nominations each.

The contest for Best Director will also be a very difficult choice to make, with the likes of Kathryn Bigelow up for an Award for her hugely controversial and highly acclaimed film 'Zero Dark Thirty'.

French actress Marion Cotillard is back with her 'Rust and Bone' performance which is up for a 'Best Actress' nod. France also has two films in the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category including 'The Intouchables' and 'Rust and Bone'. It's definitely a good year for the French.

In the TV categories, shows such as 'Breaking Bad' and Britain's 'Downton Abbey' have all made it to the top 5.

Tim Burton will also be pleased with a 'Best Animated Film' nomination, whist the less than popular 'Cloud Atlas' is in the running for 'Best Score'.
