Dark Knight Rises shootings dominates UK headlines By FIN Staff / 20 July 2012 The Dark Knight Rises out today in the UK A tragedy in America has left 12 people dead and 50 injured after a gunman opened fire at a crowd of Batman fans. Midnight screenings across America on Thursday night were packed with moviegoers impatient to see the last Batman when tragedy struck in Denver, Colorado. A 24 year old gunman, named James Holmes opened fire after throwing tear gas at a crowd of moviegoers killing many innocent people in what was reported as a 'Mass casualty incident'. Hospitals were alerted and the 24 year old was quickly arrested without putting any resistance. The news has made headlines around the world and U.S President Obama has responded to the Batman Shootings. Here in the UK we have just seen the 'Dark Knight Rises' premiere and with cinemas anticipated to be packed today for the last Batman outing, it looks like this could be one of the biggest films in history.
