The Cybersmile Foundation and The CW have announced the launch of a new campaign entitled “Dare to Love, Defy Hate” with the backing of entertainment icons and TV stars on World Mental Health Day.

Focusing on supporting people’s mental wellbeing, the campaign kicked off with a series of powerful call-to-action PSA videos.

Featuring a host of The CW stars, the season-long campaign is being aired nationally from today and throughout Bullying Prevention Month with additional videos being released in the coming weeks.

Stevie Wonder’s “Where is Our Love song” is the official soundtrack of the initiative, bringing a message of humanity, togetherness and peace. Speaking about the campaign’s launch with The CW Network, and alongside the United States Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy, Wonder said it is “such an important and needed life-changing initiative that has the ability to create the energy which can motivate us all to breathe love and positivity into all of humanity throughout our world.”

Answering the United States Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy’s call to tackle the youth mental health crisis, The CW along with Cybersmile are seeking to raise awareness of the issue, and engaging with a wide audience to help support people’s ongoing mental health needs.

Leading cast from a host of The CW hit series participated in today’s campaign launch on World Mental Health Day, calling out online hate and cyberbullying which can aggravate anxiety and other issues related to mental wellbeing.

Cyberbullying PSA with Cybersmile

Along with the launch of today’s PSAs, star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Cybersmile ambassador Garcelle Beauvais released a blog post that highlighted her personal experiences in dealing with being cyberbullied – encouraging people to explore Cybersmile’s latest Digital Wellbeing educational module to support their mental wellness.

In her post, Beauvais reflected: “Most people want to see good, do good and be a part of positive change. Most people will lend a hand as opposed to giving you the boot. I believe this in the depths of my soul. That’s why I will continue to spread as much joy, beauty, and positivity as I can in my social world.”

What have you been doing on World Mental Health Day to support other people’s mental wellbeing? How are you looking after your mental health?
