Actor Brad Pitt has been attacked on the red carpet while helping Angelina Jolie promote 'Maleficent'.

Ukrainian prankster Vitalii Sediuk managed to get over a barricade at the film premiere and allegedly hit Brad Pitt in the face.

According to the LA Times, the prankster gained access to the red carpet as the stars for the film were approaching the venue at around 7.30pm local time.

The prankster was immediately tackled by security and arrested, with bail set at $20,000.

Angelina Jolie spoke about her role in 'Maleficent' this week, and how she found it difficult to play the character. As the promotion for Disney's latest epic continues, we will wait to see how this latest attempt by the Ukrainian 'comedian' will be viewed.
