Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mildred Patricia Baena a painful revelation

The Arnold Schwarzenegger scandal continues to evolve after the former Governor admitted that he had fathered a secret ‘love child’ for 10 years. ABC also today revealed that Mildred Patricia Baena was the maid that he had the relationship with.

Maria Shriver appeared for the first time in public with Oprah for her last recorded show, amid the circulating story of Arnold’s secret son.

Maria’s statement:

"This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Statement

"There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry,"

For the Schwarzenegger family, the revelations, which have gone public, is without a doubt the toughest time they will face as they reconcile with what has happened. Having kept the secret for over ten years, Schwarzenegger’s apology to his family and wife felt almost surreal as you could feel his own immense, personal guilt.

How will this affect his legacy in office, and will people look up to him or remember Arnie as the guy who betrayed his family?

From announcing his new animated series ‘The Governator’ in Cannes earlier this year, to walking ‘the plank’ of international criticism, Schwarzenegger has gone from action hero to ‘zero’ in a matter of days.

Whether this will be compared to Bill Clinton’s sex scandal and near impeachment, is another thing, but for having kept the secret so long, there is much history yet to be uncovered.

Will Arnold Schwarzenegger fans move on from this revelation, or hold him responsible now, and at the box office?
