Amitabh Bachchan "I have refused any remuneration"

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has considered his acceptance to play the small role in Baz Luhrmann's 'The Great Gatsby' as a gesture of friendship.

In his first Hollywood outing alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Bachchan will feature in just a single scene and has publicly refused any payment for it. The Indian legend took to his blog to shed light on his recent casting in Luhrmann's new epic, and described how the process had been very enjoyable.

The actor recently did a preliminary reading of the first draft of the script when he went to Sydney along with the selected cast. Bachchan also in his recent blog post touched on the Indian-Hollywood relationship, and how a larger population of the world watched Indian movies as opposed to Hollywood productions. However there still remains a significant 'culture gap' between Bollywood and Hollywood that could be bridged overtime with more Indian actors appearing at theatres.
