Epic A list for White House Correspondents' Dinner

From reporters to celebrities,  this year’s White House correspondents dinner will be a major media event. Stars set to attend the annual extravaganza include Charlize Theron, George Clooney,a host of film industry personalities as well as publishers and TV icons. This is the ‘White House red carpet’ affair all over again. Can it top last year's epic evening?

In 2011, the White House Correspondents' dinner was a big roast, and former presidential candidate Donald Trump was the butt of all jokes. While Trump won’t be in the headlines this time round there are plenty of names on the ‘guestlist’ to create enough drama. Celebrity pranksters are among those set to attend, and there is no doubt that some viral videos will emerge from tonights affair. It's all in the making.

What many could consider as the 'Oscars' of political events, the White House Correspondents' Dinner has been a traditional annual celebration, forging closer ties between the media and the White House.

Before Obama came to office, one of the most memorable receptions at the White House was when George Bush famously took to the stand along with impersonator Steve Bridges. While being the centre of parody for most of his Presidency, George Bush in one of his shining moments turned to Bridges to entertain guests.
